AirSync for Android Adds Xbox 360 and PS3 DLNA Streaming

Still using an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 as a media hub? With a little third-party software support, they’re the perfect platforms for streaming music and video to the living room from a PC. Or an Android phone, as it turns out--DoubleTwist, maker of the popular Android music player, has added DLNA support to its $5 AirSync Android app and is officially compatible with the Xbox 360 and PS3. All it takes is a shared Wi-Fi connection, and your phone should show up as a streaming-capable media drive on either console.

The two HD consoles are the only officially supported devices at this time, but theoretically anything that’s DLNA compatible should recognize an Android device with AirSync. Check for an app update to let the good times roll.
